Free trial, billing and refunds

How the free trial, plans and renewals work, how to cancel or change your plan, and how to ask for a refund.

Plans and the free trial

VocType costs $9 a month or $70 a year. Both plans include the same features and caps. See pricing.
During our Launch offer, new subscriptions start with a 30-day free trial on both plans. Outside the offer, it is a 7-day free trial on the monthly plan and a 30-day free trial on the annual plan.
A card is needed to start the trial. Before you confirm, VocType shows the price and the date of the first charge. The trial turns into the plan you chose unless you cancel before it ends.
Checkout and payments are handled by Stripe. Prices are in USD, and taxes are added where required.

Manage, change or cancel your plan

Open VocType, go to Settings, then Account. Click Switch to annual or Switch to monthly to change your billing, or Cancel renewal to stop your plan from renewing. Each one opens a Stripe page where you confirm. Manage subscription opens your Stripe billing page, where you can update your card. You can also cancel by emailing support@voctype.com from the address you signed up with.

Cancelling stops renewal. You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.
Cancelling during the trial means you are not charged, and you keep the rest of the trial.
Cancelling on its own does not trigger a refund.
Uninstalling the app does not cancel your plan.

Refunds

Your first payment has a 7-day money-back guarantee, on either plan, whether you paid straight away or your trial turned into a paid plan. Email support@voctype.com within 7 days. Refunds for later renewals are looked at one by one. A refund ends paid dictation straight away; you can still sign in and see your History. Full details: refund policy.

A payment fails

If a renewal payment fails, you keep access for a short grace period while you update your card from Manage subscription.

Several computers

One plan covers every computer you sign in on, with no device limit. The fair-use caps are shared across them. See Recording length and fair-use limits.
