Uninstall VocType from a Mac and delete your data

How to remove VocType from your Mac, which files it leaves behind, and how to delete your account.

Remove the app

  1. Click the VocType menu bar icon and choose Quit.
  2. In Finder, open Applications and drag VocType to the Trash.
  3. If VocType still appears in System Settings, General, Login Items, remove it there. You can also turn off Launch at login in VocType's Settings before you uninstall.

Remove the files it leaves behind

These steps are optional. They delete your local settings, sign-in and any unsent recording.

  1. In Finder, choose Go, then Go to Folder, enter ~/Library/Application Support/VocType, and move the folder to the Trash.
  2. Open Keychain Access, search for "VocType Safe Storage", and delete it. It holds the key that encrypts your sign-in on this Mac.
  3. To clear the Microphone and Accessibility permissions, run these in Terminal:
    tccutil reset Microphone com.voctype.desktop
tccutil reset Accessibility com.voctype.desktop

Delete your account

Removing the app keeps your account and its History. To delete them, open Settings in the app, then Account, and click Delete account before you uninstall. You can also email support@voctype.com from the address on your account. More on what we store: data controls and the privacy policy.
